In a reflection of the business’s continued growth in domestic and international markets, Fisher Adams Kelly Callinans has appointed a new Principal in our Engineering team, Fraser Smith.
Fraser was until now a Senior Associate at the company, and has been with Fisher Adams Kelly Callinans since 2010. He has more than 12 years experience in firms of patent and trade mark attorneys in both Australia and New Zealand. Fraser holds a Bachelor of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Hons) and a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Canterbury. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, he worked as an Engineer in the resources sector, and developed a successful commercialisation project for a start up incubator company.
At Fisher Adams Kelly Callinans, Fraser has worked with some of our most prominent clients in Australia and around the world specialising in the protection of inventions in the fields of mining technologies, software, communications, embedded systems, control systems and signal processing.
In addition to this appointment, the company has promoted two of our Registered Attorneys to more senior roles. Danielle Jepson has been promoted to Senior Associate within our Trade Marks team, while Robert Munro has been made an Associate in our Engineering group.
Prior to joining Fisher Adams Kelly, Danielle gained her qualifications and ran a small Gold Coast based trade mark law practice. In 2008, Danielle was awarded the International Women’s Day, Young Business Women’s Encouragement Award. She was nominated for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards in the same year. Upon moving to Brisbane, Danielle established a trade mark law division at a Brisbane based law firm before moving to Fisher Adams Kelly Callinans. Danielle is responsible for all matters of trade mark law practice and portfolio management. She works with a wide range of clients including local, national and international businesses. She has strong ties to the franchising and brand development industries.
Since 2012 Robert Munro has been a key member of our Engineering team. Prior to joining Fisher Adams Kelly, Robert was a Mechanical Engineer for EV Engineering (EVE), a start up company focused on building an Australian future in electric vehicle technology. As part of EVE, Robert designed systems that helped the team to set a world record for the most kilometres driven in an electric car in 24 hours. Robert contributed to further systems which resulted in patent applications in both Australia and Germany and holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.
